Sick of waking up every morning at 0600 hrs (OMG why am I using this format?). Sick of taking the bloody train full of bloody people. Sick of squeezing my ass off the Boon Lay station platform. Sick of the bloody long route to my office.

It's about 5 more months. Or is it 6? I really do not know, not that I do not care. I do care, but I can't be bothered to count. It's too painful. Painful to know the exact number of days to freedom, yet you can't do anything to speed things up. Perhaps to not think about it is the best way to soften pain.

I'm trying my best to do a whole lot of things. Revising. Teaching. Learning. Exercising (or lack thereof). Damn it. Time just fails to allow me the luxury to do all at once. But I believe once freedom impends it will equate to a lot more accomplished. Let's take a look at things:

Monday: Wake up at 1000 hrs, head to the gym and lunch by 1300, prepare materials for tuition till 1600, use the computer till 1800, dinner and then tuition. Finally bed.
Tuesday: Wake up at 1000 hrs, slack around at home with computer, prepare materials for tuition the whole afternoon, tuition and dinner. Finally bed.
Wednesday: Wake up at 1200 hrs. Do nothing the whole day. Sleep.
Thursday: Wake up at 1000 hrs, tuition in the afternoon. Head to the gym after that. Dinner. Computer. Sleep.
Friday: Wake up at 1100 hrs. Prepare tuition materials the morning. Go do some cardio (swimming/running). Tuition at night. Go dinner and party till 0100 or 0200. Shiok.
Saturday: Tuition, tuition and more tuition. Thereafter party.
Sunday: Same as above.

Rinse and repeat the above till July 09. NOW ISN'T THAT COOL? AS COMPARED TO THE BELOW:
Monday: Wake up at 0600 hrs. Go to camp. Do nothing/pointless crap. Go home at 1900. Prepare for tuition materials. Sleep.
Tuesday: Same as above.
Wednesday: Same as above.
Thursday: Same as above.
Friday: Same as above.
Saturday: Tuition. Hang out with friends. Play computer, and the occasional duty (F it)
Sunday: Tuition. Hang out for lunch. Play computer, and the occasional duty (F THAT)

I am sure a change to my above routine for 2 bloody years will definitely be healthier for my body. I'm still young, many more years ahead. I do not want to be unhealthy and die a young age.

SOMEBODY SAVE ME!!!!

/end rant

National Service?

I can't believe I'm blogging again. Somehow, on my way to my tutee's house, I had this really really really really (I can't emphasise just HOW MUCH) strong and immense and powerful and strong and immense and.... feeling. It's just overwhelming.

I'm rewinding back to 2 years ago. What the hell was I doing? I was in JC, making my best efforts studying (hopefully, but that wasn't really the case as I was still pretty hard on gaming). Somehow it translated to me thinking about those colleagues who ORDed last year - they were actually enlisting and were slogging it out in NS. It's just so weird thinking about that in the same timeframe, people are actually carrying out different things in their life. And I quickly look back to now - I'm actually in my old colleagues shoes, serving the country while there's probably some dude out there studying and full of bliss that life is perfect. BUT NOT QUITE DUDE!

It's a strange and weird feeling which I do not know of any means to convey it out in text. It's in my head and body now, probably chilling out after I left it alone. But now I'm activating it again in order to blog it.

Just a bare year ago, I was just posted to my current unit, thinking that 2 years is going to be really hard to pass and shits like that. Well it was, in that time, for me. Time was moving on so slowly that it is tolling on me. I've always wondered how happy, excited, free, crazy, insane that I'll feel when I ORD. But I couldn't really feel it, I was just guessing my feelings. But now, a year has passed, and it's only 6 months or so before that day really come. And this fateful morning the feelings came to me. I can actually feel the pre-ORD feelings that will come pretty soon in November/December/January. The feeling I will be having in camp as I prepare to go ORD. I can actually feel it. It is so strong. And today I can almost feel it when it's 23rd January. The happiness is so strong. The joy. The extreme passion that makes me want to shout it out loud.

I don't think anybody can understand how I feel. Even those who ORDed will feel differently. To those who always say how happy they will be upon ORD (when theirs is like so long away), I'll like to say this - you know nothing. Even I can only vaguely feel it and I'm 6 months away.

I guess I finally found out what good NS does to a Singaporean male -

ORD can possibly be the happiest day in your life.

Blog update - Once in a while

Okay, I must admit I'm as hell as lazy.... HanaKimi is completed, First Kiss will be completed next week (or maybe earlier) and Nodame Cantabile completed next week (earlier?). So surprising that nodame is release twice in a week for 2 weeks now! So happy about this.. First Kiss was also released earlier than HanaKimi. Ha! But I haven't have time to watch either 3 shows. I'm busy with War of Money, a Kdrama! Surprise surprise!

By the way, FaceBook is hell lots of fun! So many funny applications to add on, lots of interaction etc.. My dream (or rather, goal) of saving up a mini-fortune for myself looks bleak.. And precious time is slipping by.. Everyday of procastination leads to loss cash.. I just can't seem to start reading up about those unit trusts etc, to boost my % returns. And I'm spending a lot more, with the acupunture treatment on my arm becoming another new expenditure.

And my tuition assignments are going really too slowly! Not that I'm the one delibrately missing lessons, my students are the ones who always have last-minute cock ups. And now, come next week, I'm not going to be available one weekdays. This will go on all the way till end October.

Nodame Cantabile

This is such a good show! I can't believe I forgot talking about it.

This show's about a very talented pianist/violinist, Chiaki, who aspires to be a conductor since young. However he has a phobia of both travelling by plane and by boat(ship). Thus, he's stucked in Japan with no room to perform. Then, there's this girl, Megumi Noda (aka Nodame), who's a lazy, dirty, sloppy pianist and happens to be Chiaki's junior, and so happens to stay next door to Chiaki. Well it's about both of the characters developing with each other's support.

I'm currently only to episode 6, but it's good! It's funny with those ridiculous acts (like smacking someone hard in the face and that dude just flies), and yet, the emotions in the show just appeal so strongly to me. I really like this show. Even U-weekly reviewed this show!

Today

I miss my tuition 'cause the student suddenly couldn't make it. Well, AOH was pretty "fun and exciting", much like what is portrayed, to the public at least.

I'm a huge lazy bum ass. I prefer to laze around at home most of the time. Sigh. Reading Adam Khoo's book motivated me, a little, but still I can't get out of this lazy me.

Oh, I went to COMEX just yesterday. It was sooooo much better compared to The PC Show. 3 storeys (though I heard from my brother it was 4), 6 halls. So much better. But the crowd was still insane, with so much more room space.

I think I'm not a good tutor. One student just turned away from me. Sobs.

Sidenote on army related issues: I'm going to be a Corporal soon! Come September.. 26th.. This really brought my spirits up. Hopefully, I can rise to 3rd sergeant. More money!

Oh, and Happy Belated Teachers' Day. Sorry to my teachers (though I doubt they see this), I was in camp during the celebrations.

DotA and CSS

So yesterday, I did several things on hand.
1. Tuition at Pasir Ris
2. Lan match at Parklane
3. Grandpa's house for his birthday celebration
4. Home for CSS2 finals

So, tuition at pasir ris wasn't all that difficult. He's a smart kid. Not much trouble went on there, and I even hitched a ride from pasir ris all the way to orchard :D

Then, we had our Lan match at parklane. Wow, that was the BEST game I had in my life. Maybe I forgot about past games, but this had to be one of the very best. We capitalised on the enemy's ONE HUGE ASSED mistake and win the game. The whole game was over an hour long (I supposed so) and it ended, in just 5 minutes: a 2 minute battle at the Roshan, followed by 3 minutes of de-raxing at scrouge's base, where another skirmish between the heroes went on. Thereafter, mega creeps and it was GG.

The draft went like this:
1. Scrouge first pick - Queen of Pain
2. Sentinel first pick - Priestess of the Moon
3. Scrouge second pick - Sandking
4. Sentinel second pick - Vengeful Spirit
5. Scrouge third pick - Enigma
6. Sentinel third pick - Venomancer
7. Scrouge fourth pick - Shadow Fiend
8. Sentinel fourth pick - Earthshaker
9. Scrouge last pick - Pudge
10. Sentinel last pick - Visage

So I drafted the visage, as the scrouge team consisted of mass AoE heroes. The lanes went like this:
Top lane: Scrouge - Sandking, Enigma, Pudge; Sentinel - Earthshaker, Priestess of the Moon
Middle lane: Scrouge - Shadow Fiend; Sentinel - Visage (me)
Bottom lane: Scrouge - Queen of Pain; Sentinel - Vengeful Spirit, Venomancer

Basically, top lane was doing OK, 3 heroes versus 2 didn't caused much trouble; no first blood at top lane. Bottom lane was trying to contain QoP, but they didn't net any kills either. Middle lane was really bad, I couldn't handle SF's denying, and a few backstabs caused me death. And I forgot that I got first blooded by SF, resulting in my hero lagging behind by 2 hero levels.

After the initial early game, the hero kills were quite even between both sides. We hardly died to their AoE gangbangs and managed to killed them as they were camping in several secret spots. So it was quite even as they netted several kills with pudge hooking here and there. However, we were severely behind in terms of hero levels as well as creep pushes. Their SF and QoP,were, at one point, 5-6 levels higher than myself. They had more tower kills and bottom lane was pretty much screwed up, all the way to the third tower.

Then, as we were pushing middle lane's second tower, we managed to deal sufficient damage to sandking to force him back. Thinking happily that SK went back for heals, we pushed. That was a mistake. They engaged us; we gallantly fought. Sandking, out of nowhere, burrowstriked and epicentre, killing 4 of our heroes. It was tactically a very bad move and situation for us the sentinels. Luckily, they did not managed to push through our middle second tower.

Oh and did I forget that my visage's birds helped a lot in preventing gangbangs? They were placed along the river and at several key points monitoring their movements. They hardly had a chance to backstab us.

Things did not look good for us as we entered late game. The SF and QoP was very farmed up, SF with BoT, HoT, Dagger while QoP had aghanim scepter and euls (no charges). I only had barely a plate and chain mail, hyperstone and hood of defiance.

Then the turning point came. I noticed their heroes to be missing in action for some time. Very quickly, I moved my hero (and my army of birds) over to Roshan. Truly, the sandking and QoP was there hitting hard at Roshan, who was down to half its hitpoints. I immediately shouted to my teammates to backstab!! Very quickly, the battle ended with me killing the QoP and sandking and the enigma (if I'm not mistaken). We proceded to kill the Roshan and that's when the SF came by, thinking he can steal the Aegis or stealing back the kill. But ES just fissured and blocked his path out! VS throwing his stun and I focused fire on him. GG he's dead. And there was the pudge who was hiding in the trees, attempting to hook one of us away from the battleground. Well, I paid him a visit and ended him there.

We proceded to push the middle and bottom lane, and then swinged to the top lane (wasn't really swinging, our creeps were there). Their heroes were out by then and another skirmish went on. I killed most of their heroes (if not, ALL). Holy shit and triple kill for me.

Well that was the end of the Lan match. I felt really satisfied and happy. Our teamwork was not too bad.

Nothing much went on at my Grandpa's place. Just that I chatted a lot with both of my brothers. Somehow, we hardly chat when we are at home. It was a good opportunity to try and motivate my younger brother to study hard for his Os.

Then, CSS2 finals. Keely was pretty in the show. I expected her to be the female champion. But, it was really a pity for Benjamin. He sang so well, while Shawn was more close to the stuff you find in the toilet. He was horrible. It is a pity that right from the start of the show, advertisements and posters splashed everywhere carried Shawn's face. People who don't even watch the show knows that "Hey where's that little boy of CSS2?" Media effect created the CSS2 champion. So many aunties and uncles are willing to spend money to vote for him. It is ridiculous, something like in PSS1, CWL effect. Sigh.

I was pretty much disgusted with the show, the voting system, the production team. They were so profit-driven. And I hope the series just discontinue.

Oh, and do you notice that the whole Superstar franchise (in Singapore, I don't know about the other countries) had male winners?

Coming up, a really busy week..

I really have no idea how to survive this coming week. It's gona be packed with testing, testing, and more testing. Apart from that, tuition assignments. Monday will be one, and then, I will have to clear 3 more that week. Wow, that's increduly tremendous work for the lazy and un-hardworking me. How am I suppose to do so much things in a week? Saturday will also be a day which I can't do much. Man this is crazy.

There's going to be me being unable to do anything after I get home the next week, as I will probably be too tired and go to sleep. Testing will probably last till late evening, and dinner is on the house (like who cares). I would very much rather to stay at home, catch some TV and then some sleep. And oh shit, I forgot that Monday there's CSS2! I arranged my damn tuition from 7-9. OMG!!! Who ask me to postpone yesterday's lesson till tomorrow..

Oh, and I am finally up to date to HanaKimi, starring Horikita Maki and Oguri Shun and that guy whom-I-don't-know-who-but-acted-in-HYD2-as-the-bad-guy-who-kidnapped-Mao. Haha. HanaKimi is certainly nice, and it almost tempted me to watch the Taiwanese version. But I don't have too much time and the motivation to begin the show.

Then, just a few minutes ago, I read that there's going to be a HYD movie coming up!!! I'm very very excited and full of anticipation for this! This is by far, MY FAVOURITE DRAMA! I really like watching Jun and Mao together. But it will take hell long, 2008, before the show's going to make it into Japan's cinemas. That means, another good few months till it being available for download. And maybe, just maybe, I would have ORDed! Woooooo!?

And oh, just a bit of rant regarding WGT. WTF was rapturegaming thinking? Choosing certain games that isn't going to be represented in the WGT finals to be played in SG finals? Seriously, this company should consider changing their name. To ****gaming. Nice job of promoting gaming in singapore. Go to hell.

Food!

Yesterday was a day with lots of heavy food and heavy expenditure. Let me do a breakdown on the food I consumed yesterday:
Lunch - Yong Tau Foo + Vanilla Milkshake (McDonalds)
Drink - Strawberry Ice-Blended (each-A-cup)
Dinner - Steamboat BBQ (Zheng Fa) + Anything (a soft drink!!) + Barley (another canned drink)
Drink - Strawberry Milkshake

Wow, just look at the junk I've taken in yesterday. It's lots of fats and oil and cholestrol. So unhealthy. And I've been having lots of deep-fried food for the past week..

Joel also pranked me. When he asked me "What drink do you want?", I casually replied "Anything la." He really bought me an Anything.

Expenditure wise, I'm not counting. AND THE END!

That's it! I've finally completed the book today, around 1400 hours. It was a great finish I made. Last 200 pages were enticing and captivating. Could hardly stop. If it was the me in the past, I would probably have burned the midnight oil and finished it in the wee hours of today's morning. But alas, I've grown and become old.. I hardly have the stamina nor energy nor concentration to finish the book last night. Sigh.

I've followed the series for how long? Since primary 5 I remember. That's in 1999. 8 years. A cool 8 years have wheezed as I grew, along with the book, with Harry Potter.

It felt different reading the book in the past compared to now: reading the book in the past would be to imagine a Harry Potter and his gang of friends going through quests and adventures; reading the book now would be to imagine Harry and his friends going through quests and adventures all the same, but the pictures of the characters are life-like. Yes, they are the movie actors and actresses and the like. It feels so different now, reading the book.

There's a lot of confusion going on after the 7th, the final book of the series. My emotions are just kind of screwed up. Heaving a sigh of relief, as the series is finally over; Feeling down and disappointed, as there will no longer be something that I will look forward to reading, maybe never ever again. ITS ALL OVER! And I am happy and sad. It was a good ending I suppose, the ending that will please most fans around the globe. I, too, am satisfied with it. JK Rowling threw a FULLSTOP into our faces. ITS THE END DUDES. Era of Harry Potter is finally over.

I can hardly take in that.

But onto the book itself, it was a good read. As some know, I am not an avid reader. I hardly read books; most books are read halfway by me, and never completed. But not Harry Potter and his friends: I'm proud to say that I have completed the series, every single book, every single words, in full. Nothing missed, although most forgotten. That was why I usually have a hard time comprehending each book as they were released (2 years in succession). So it is very likely that I will be re-reading the Deathly Hallows (and very very extremely likely, the whole series over again).

Sorry for digressing. The book's first 300 pages, weren't that great, to be honest. It was a lot about Harry and gang dodging Death Eaters and Voldemort. There are few points which I don't understand: Voldemort was back, Death Eaters were all around, why didn't the Ministry do anything? I thought I had forgot lots. It became not logical. The Ministry was protecting the Order and Harry, but they weren't arresting Death Eaters? That's all just too strange to me. Perhaps Scrimageour (did I spell him right?) was covering lots, but he can't be doing NOTHING, right?

Half of the book went into how Harry was hiding. First 200 pages all about him with the Order. Next 200, Harry, Hermione, Ron on the search for Horcruxes. That part was freakishly draggy. I didn't like that. It bored me.

But towards the end, the last 200 pages, excitement was brought back. They were back at Hogwarts. THAT's WHAT HARRY POTTER BOOKS SHOULD BE, AT HOGWARTS! The excitement climbed back; most fans would agree that it is Hogwarts where much takes place in Harry Potter's books. This book was no different.

The ending was nicely tailored. Bits and pieces filled in. I understood most (though some were still not clear as I have forgotten most of the past books). Did JK Rowling planned this? Did she had the whole story mapped out, in her mind? It just seems so amazing. If she did not, then her ability to craft out some new concepts of magic is just incredible. Concepts that saved Harry's life. Concepts that killed Voldemort.

It was just, however, unsatisfactory for Voldemort to just die in 2 sentences. He was, in a matter-of-fact, one of the main baddies in the book. How can he just die, in 2 lines? Even Sirius's death took quite a bit of time. Maybe 3 lines. But his? 2? Just, unsatisfactory.

EDIT: Oh, just forgot. Why did Hogwarts continue operations even after Voldemort's return? Thought Dumbledore DIED in Hogwarts, with Death Eaters rampaging through the grounds? Why is it even allowed to continue operations?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hiangtat.blogspot.com/2007/07/harry-potter-and-end.html' title='Harry Potter.................. Tuition
2. Understanding concepts of mathematics and sciences
3. Preparing myself for WCG (by practicing a lot)
4. Read Harry Potter's last book(!!!)
<strike>5. Watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix</strike>
6. Get myself more tuition assignments (making myself hell busy)
7. Read up on how to grow my money through investments
8. Re-read Harry Potter series (once I complete the Deathly Hallows)
9. Plan my gym workout routines (which I will, or rather, can NEVER follow)
10. Go to the gym more frequently

That's all I can remember off hand, probably a few more to be added. Oh right, I just watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. So I'll strike through that. I'll talk more about that movie later.

Top-most priority would be giving tuition and understanding concepts of mathematics and sciences (both are inter-linked anyway). I want to be able to teach well; I enjoy teaching; I want to earn more money as well. So it's one stone killing three birds!

I need to prepare myself for WCG. I just took 2 days of leave (out of a mere 7 days for the rest of the year) for this event. And $15 bucks for the registration. So I must start training hard! I don't want to be knocked out in the first round of the competition, that would just suck so bad. But I hardly have the time nor motivation to play. So unfortunate.

HARRY POTTER's LAST BOOK!!!! I'm going to get it tomorrow morning. And I've got just the right amount of time to read them. This sunday I'm going for duty, so I might as well spend my time reading! One whole day should be enough :)

Getting myself more assignments could be suicidal, although great in boosting my account balance :) I wouldn't have time to hang out with the gang, so it's low on my priority list.

Growing my money is important. If not, we can't beat inflation! But I'm lazy.

Re-reading Harry Potter's series is going to be fun! I'm probably going to read them, but I've only got books 4,5,6 and coming soon, book 7. No 1 2 3 books. So I can't accomplish this, but I intend to do so once I've got them :D

Planning my gym workout routines would be important for me to keep fit. But, now I hardly have the time to GO to the gym itself, let alone plan my workout?!

Okay, onto the Harry Potter movie. It wasn't as I had expected. My expectations were probably brought too high by the 4th movie, Goblet of Fire. This one was too short. Too choppy. Too fast-paced. Too many cuts. Too many edits. The book gave its readers time to breathe. The movie didn't. It did not allow for viewers to take a deep breath and think through the movie plot, leaving viewers gasping for air (myself included). One who did not read the book could hardly understand the show. The cast was jumping from scene to scene. Harry could be kissing this moment and then he could be chatting with Ron and Hermione the next. True, that's according to the book, but before the 'scene jump', the chapter closes.

Sirius didn't DIE to AVRACADAVRA (or whatever that killing green spell). He fell to his death, for god's sake. That curtain was another dimension; once entered, you can never return. But what the heck? He just got killed by some random spell, in a matter of 1 minute. Probably the explanation for the curtain would take another 5 minutes of the movie screen time, because up till now I had not completely understood it, but why edit?!

The spell fights between the Death Eaters and the Order was cool; the spell fight between Voldemort and Dumbledore is, just like DUMBledore name is, DUMB. Target spells destroying things all around. And spells have lightning coming out of the wands. LOL. I don't remember that scene in the book. That scene should be that of Goblet of Fire, between Voldemort and Harry due to the connections of their destiny. But the movie? Jokes!

Regret

Really regret throwing away/selling my notes (to garang guni man). We knocked off from work at 1500. Then, instead of the usual heading home, I joined my colleagues to sing karaoke at The Chevrons. I had joined them because Alvin Lim had been asking me to join them for some outing for weeks.

Initially I had planned to only go there for bowling, for probably 1-2 hours, thereafter going home at about 5 plus when they go sing K. But when we got there, the bowling alley was occupied by kids for some primary school tournament. All lanes were filled. Even if not, I would never have the face to go down to bowl alongside these kids. Never. They were getting scores of more than 200. Ridiculous. My maximum is 100+.

So instead we went to the lounge and play some pool and Xbox. I thought, maybe I'll join them in K for awhile. Probably just go home a little at about 7. But to think I stayed on all the way till 10 pm! I really enjoyed my first session at a karaoke lounge, when I actually sing.

It was truly enjoyable, even though my singing was horrible.

But the day was sort of spoiled by some weird pervert I met on the MRT. As I boarded the train at Jurong East, I noticed this teenager (probably my age), pale looking, bespectacled (nerdy). It was strange that he turned and looked at me, smiling (or rather, giggling to himself). First time, still alright. Then second time third time fourth time followed. It felt really creepy and completely freaked me out. When I alighted at Tiong Bahru, I was so afraid he might go on stalking me.

Yucks.

A sick day?

Tired tired tired. Posting here because I forgot to mention I watched the finale of Proposal Daisakusen on last Friday night. Arieanai... Tsu... no! Isn't it? I can't believe that I forgot to blog about the show's ending and my rants about it. But I did. The ending wasn't all that great. Perhaps that explains why I totally forgot about it when I was blogging the past few days. What a joke, thinking back when I was raving about the show in almost all my blog posts.

The subtitles that I watched Proposal Daisakusen finale was very bad. That makes the ending seem bad to me? I'm hoping to get Love Song's hardsubs and watch the finale all over again. Then I'll be able to understand the show and its ending better. Maybe. I like the ending, but wasn't overwhelmed by it. Not like Hana Yori Dango. I was all over the show's ending.

That's it for now, and oh by the way I'm watching Gokusen 2, a show I've downloaded like 6 months ago and left it unwatched on my DVD.

A sick day?

Just another day

5km runs are getting easier. At least at my pace. I've not been struggling so much after a couple of runs. But I'm not really pushing myself to the limit. Maybe I shouldn't be so over-the-moon over that. But I don't think I'm able to push myself to the limit. I'll probably end up walking. And that would spoil my day.

I've completely lost it.

Lost the motivation to play competitively.

In what you ask?

Warcraft3.

Perhaps real life is taking over me.

And maybe japanese drama.

And I'm probably still going to join WCG.

For the goodie bags?

And relinquish some memories of last year.

Meet up those gaming friends.

And probably get owned in first round.

I've already wasted 2 days of leave. Transformer movie which was an average show. The battles were somewhat too messy, the plot was alright, and some characters were mundane and to say harshly, were pointless. The signaller and her team, what were they for? Was the director simply giving these new actors/actresses some screen time? It's like their presence will not have any direct impact to the show.

Thereafter we did our usual stuff at Parklane, and went to Vivo for dinner. The dinner wasn't too bad, some Thai foodcourt food. Yummy.

And then we spent around an hour making our way to SAFRA @ Mount Faber. And we waited for another hour for our bowling lanes. The unhappy thing wasn't just that we bowled horribly (was my spelling for 'bowled' horrible?), but other people from other lanes complained about us. And it resulted in the management coming over to 'scold' us. Yes it may be our fault, but hey, ARE YOU A PRO? I don't see your scores hitting above 200 even. Why do you bother so much about us interrupting you?

Lastly, I made lots of complains about Friday. Picture this scenario: Your daddy tells you and emphasizes for an entire week (since Tuesday) that he's going to buy you that lollipop you've been wanting for as long as you remember, on Friday. Then on the very much awaited day, he suddenly tells you, "You're not getting the candy because you haven't done what daddy wants you to do for the week." That just sucks soooooo much. What's worst is the thing daddy wants you to do, hasn't been mentioned during the week; it was mentioned only last week and on Friday itself. It's not fair is it?! Even though the thing daddy wants done has been over-dued fpr 2 weeks, but not reminding us and then punishing us is just not fair. And this happened to me. It so sucks.

Nowadays, I'm losing my desires to play as much games as I would have loved to. Life has been taken over by work, japanese dramas. And I've begin to enjoy teaching! When I was halfway through the lesson explaining the concepts, the feeling is just amazing. Maybe I will go into teaching, but that's still a long way to decide.

Yesterday.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. Morning, woke up to play close to 10 games with adrian and beng kian and doomie. Thereafter, went out to shop at john little and managed to spend the 30 dollars robinsons voucher that came as a freebie with my mp3 player. To think the expiry date is June 2007! Evil salesperson...

After the shopping is done, I went ahead to meet the gang for our usual activity at our usual hotspot. Nothing amazing, other than the game in which I used QoP and owned the crap out of the opposing team. Haha!

Had dinner at MacDonalds where I spent about 30 minutes finishing my meal. I'm having rubber bands in my mouth and that hurt a hell lot, explaining why I took so long to eat. Thereafter, we went to SAFRA Mount Faber to bowl/pool, but that place was full. We made our way back home by foot and spent 20 minutes talking trash to each other. Haha, those were the days..

Then when I got home, my dramas finished downloading! Love Song finally released their Proposal Daisakusen episode 9, which I quickly finished. And there was Liar Game episode 10 which I also finished. Exciting and I can't wait for the 3 hour finale!! Then, I couldn't contain myself and went on to watch Proposal Daisakusen episode 10 which was soft subbed. It was satisfying and not satisfying. Why? Because it satisfy my cravings for Proposal and finally Kenzou had some balls to do something, but not satisfying as the English translation was pretty bad and I couldn't understand 30% of the time. I guess I'll rewatch that episode when Love Song releases them. Now I can't wait for the finale of Proposal as well!

2 dramas awaiting for completion... No wait, there's Hana Yori Dango 2 which I am rushing as well!

Leave

Tomorrow I'm going to take a day off from work. Probably going to the gym with mVp guys (aka Internet friends).

Well, I haven't got the chance to comment on the show that I recently watched, Hana Yori Dango. It's a pretty cute drama and I really like the plot a lot. However, what kills the plot was that I already knew it beforehand, as it is the japanese version of Meteor Garden. But nevertheless, I very very much preferred the japanese version one, as it's shorter, simpler and much cuter (a shocking difference of 21 episodes between the japanese and taiwanese version). Anyway, I prefer the lead actress in HYD too. Inoue Mao, she's called, but I have no idea how do you pronouce that.

Today I just checked the GXL website and I got really pissed. My opponent had the face to report a win against me. LOL? We didn't even complete the games and did you seriously take it that I'll let you walkover against me, or you'll win against me? I was online all the long on Sunday and you had the face to post a loss on me. Well done and good job. Seriously, I'll own you up in real life as well as in warcraft. Just watch out, asshole.

A great run

I have something to be really proud of today. About myself. I managed to complete a 5km run without stopping! I never knew my stamina improved THAT much. In the past it was all crappy and I couldn't even do 2.4 without walking. My brother was right; in the past cross country (4.8km) seemed like an eternity, but now 5km wasn't really that tough after all. Yay! Glad that I am able to keep fit this way, with runs every Tuesday and Friday.

Oh and yesterday's Campus Superstar was.. so-so. Song singing wise wasn't all that impressive. Honestly speaking I was only looking out for the females, thereafter I couldn't really be bothered by the males. Keely looked much better yesterday. It's a pity Jia Jun got out of the show so soon. A fatal mistake of choosing the wrong song killed her. Anyway I think the third judge RoyLi was somewhat biased towards Zheng Ning, giving her a pretty high score even after criticising her. But that's pretty typical for this kind of idol-search shows. There's bound to be judge favourites.. But this time around the judges are far too important to the contestants.

Happy Father's Day

Dad, Happy Father's Day! Why must it be on occasions like this then do we reflect on ourselves? I guess it's my nature. A point to take is that we should always treasure the people and things around us all the time, not just on special occasions like today.

Oh well, today I shall try to add in a few pictures into my blog post, but I seriously have no idea how to do so.

Here's my attempt at posting a picture:

Hey, it's successful! Today, there wasn't much stuff to do in the office, so I managed to sneak in 3 hours of nap!

Tomorrow's going to be another day where we'll do life run, and thereafter I'll head off to the gym to work out a little before going back to the office for meeting. And the day will end shortly after, 'cause it's a friday!

I'll have to dinner out tomorrow though, and it's going to cost me around 20 bucks. Not a wise thing to do, as I've just spent 200+ on a new computer. But well, it's 'compulsory', so I have to go.

Oh and hopefully my tuition assignment and its problems will go out well eventually. Actually there were some content that I wanted to blog it out, but after losing 5-6 games straight and coupled with the fact that I had won 0 games today, I feel pretty restless and demoralised, and not in the mood to do anything.

I am strangely not on form today, even though I had the mood to play games. Why? This week is the final GXL week, the week where I have to win all my games 2:0 in order to advance, though I highly doubt the possibility.

I also found out that my brand new (2 weeks old) everglide t-1000 keyboard was defaced. By myself. I'm so frustrated when I saw the multiple scratches that my new keyboard now carries. I had probably scratched it when I brought it out on Monday. Lots of movement and it got scratched so bad. Some of the keys have their labels (or prints) coming off, and the shiny black plastic body have multiple gashes on it, at the top right hand side of the keyboard. It so pains me. It's a new keyboard!!!! I'm trying my best not to look at the scratches. This keyboard is going to accompany for a long long time..

Proposal Daisakusen episode 8 was out on Monday! Real quick, managed to finish it today. This episode isn't as frustrating as 6, so not much complains, but yamapi is still a wimp. This episode is something like a jumping board for the plot to escalate higher. Let's just hope (against hope) that the ending turns out well. HOORAY!

More dramas~

So I completed Proposal Daisakusen episode 7 as well as Liar Game episode 8 (which was downloaded in 20 minutes @ 110kbps). How addicting those shows were!

I've mentioned previously that I was pretty disappointed in Proposal Daisakusen episode 6, probably because it wasn't as exciting as episode 5 and yamapi was such a wimp in ep 6 (complete wimp). Even though in episode 7 yamapi didn't fare any better, a new twist to the story really got the fire in me crackle all over again! It had probably died out after episode 6, but episode 7 just added more fuel to it! Now I'm really awaiting for episode 8 to see the development of the story as well as TO SEE THE END OF THE WHOLE DRAMA! It's nearing the end guys, let's hang on there!

Liar Game was equally captivating - the plot turned out pretty nice, and erika toda grown more intelligent in this episode :) Too bad the show is barely 36 minutes long. It's a very short duration for a jdrama.

By the way I didn't stay-in camp on thursday night (yesterday) because... For no reason, probably was really tired and didn't want to sleep in the office. And that was the night that I watched Proposal Daisakusen!!!

Today I finished my GXL game with my old clanmate (or still clanmate?). Did really badly, 2 risky moves in 2 games and lost both games. I have tonnes of excuses for not playing well, but still, it's my fault for losing them regardless of any excuses. Just hoping really hard that I can make it into GXL finals, as it's been a long time since I've attended any LAN tournaments..

Stay in day

Today is going to be a stay-in day for me. Due to the fact that tomorrow we're going for life run, and we must reach camp before 0730. Even though I can make it by then (I've been in camp at 0700), but I decided to stay in, since I have not stayed in for 2 weeks. I know it's a really LOL reason to stay in, but whatever.

Today I missed the bloody train AGAIN. Yesterday I missed it, by a hell 1 minute, and today the same thing happened to me. Yesterday, I left home at 0617 and I missed the train which comes at 0622 (according to my time). Today, when I do a time check, I was horrified to see 0617, and I knew history is probably going to repeat for me. And it really did. So, I had to wait for 9 minutes for the next train, which was ridiculously long. And I can only take the 3rd shuttle bus instead of the second one. Why don't SMRT cut the interval shorter? So that I can wait for a shorter period of time instead of 9 minutes of nothing.

Ah, I can't wait for the next Proposal Daisakusen (episode 7). I was rather disappointed with episode 6, so let's hope episode 7 will turn out good for the protagonist! Or maybe it is due to myself not being completely absorbed into the show while watching episode 6, as I had previously been completely taken into the show from episodes 1 to 5. Maybe that break between 5 and 6 killed the "fever" about the show, making episode 6 a disappointment for me. That's maybe.

Oh and I'm going to start watching Hana Yori Dango season 1, which is the Japanese version of Meteor Garden (Taiwanese version). Hopefully it will turn out good, as the ratings for the show is pretty high and there are pretty decent comments on the show.

Now I'm really back into the jdorama business :)

Campus Superstar 2!

I'll not go into my title first, but instead update on my Samsung K3. I've managed to contact a shop at Chinatown, and he was able to quote me a price for a screen protector at less than SGD25. But I'm not so sure whether I should get it or not.. because $25 is still not a cheap price to pay for a piece of plastic film. What's more, I was able to reapply my screen protector much more nicely than the first time round, now my K3 looks much more presentable and "newer". But the ends of the "thrown in free" screen protector is looking really bad, as in, worn out. I'm thinking of cutting it up using siscsors. No idea if it would be a good idea though. Also, there is a long scotch tape mark across the screen, though it is hardly visible, I would want to get it removed as I'm afraid there might be sticky residues left on my K3 screen after the protector is stuck on my K3 for a few years. And it would suck really badly. So should I get a brand new screen protector at such a steep price?

Okay, I shall come on to campus superstar 2! Finished watching it on Monday and I'm like, another male is going to win this again.. It is sad but the truth, as the previous 3 instalments (PSS1, PSS2, CSS1) were all won by males, and I was hoping for some female showing this time round. But to my great disappointment, the females didn't shine at all (although I was looking for some real eye candy). Well, shining in terms of vocals isn't that right afterall. But the male contestants were better showing. Especially the youngest contestant Shawn. There was so much hype going around him, and I expected some good performance after seeing last week's show.

The start of his song Chi Pang wasn't that good, and I wasn't really impressed. But thereafter, the way he sang the song, just won me over. His style of singing was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM JJ LIN, THE ORIGINAL SINGER OF THE SONG. Wow, that's impressive as ALMOST AT ALL TIMES, during competitions, contestants will adopt the safe approach of singing a song just like the original rendition. And to think this is the FIRST LIVE SHOW for Shawn. Just wow.

And this time round I really like this contestant (looks I mean). Was attracted to the way she presented herself in the photoshoots as well as the little TV clips shown. Just like in CSS1, I really like Clara Tan from Dunman High. Now, I really like Keely Wee from VJC. And she's also from Dunman High, how ironic... Haha!

My purchases at "The PC Show 2007"

Yesterday I went down to collect the Samsung YP-K3 that my brother had bought (under the salesperson scheming tactics, claiming that the player is finishing) earlier in the day. It costs S$218, no drop in the prices even though it's the last day of the show. The better deal was a $10 more Robinsons voucher. What use do I have of that? No idea.

Anyway the freebies thrown in was kind of horrible. The leather casing was good looking, but, there was a freaking belt clip that is NON-REMOVABLE. Hell, it makes the whole casing so bulky that it bulges uglyly (is it spelt that way?) in my jeans pocket. I'm gonna scout around for a drawstring pouch for my player. It should be of soft cloth material and is long enough to fit my K3. Oh, and I must get a screen protector for my K3 as well, if I fail to reapply the free screen protector thrown into the deal. Hell, the promoters didn't even bother with helping their customers to apply it, and I applied it horribly, making the brand new K3 looks like it's 1 year old. I intend to go home and try to clean the screen protector up, then reapply it onto my K3. If all else fails, I'll have to buy a new screen protector (which costs S$20-ish, kind of expensive for a plastic film), which I have no idea where to get one for this model.

I also bought an Everglide t1000 gaming keyboard. Quite good looking and slim in design. Haven't tried it out, but I did remembered using it sometime ago (2005) during the only competition I marshalled in. Haha.

On another note, Razer gave me some problems. I had wanted to buy the Diamondback combo on sale. The thing is, Gerald managed to buy the combo at $49 (original price $59) on the first day of the show. However, when I queried about the deal on the last day of the show, they told me NO SUCH THING! Wow, and to think they have the cheek to ask me to show them the proof? If I managed to get Gerald down to the show, you're willing to offer me the combo for free? Bad service, COMING FROM THE BOSS. I can't believe the excuses you can find to not offer a better deal, when you obviously offered my friend a better deal, WHEN I WAS AROUND TOO. Laugh out loud, BL asshole.

I also painstakingly made my round through the whole convention hall, looking for the Plantronics booth. And I couldn't find the booth at all! Walking for close to 1 hour, with the crowd number being immensely CRAZY, I got really tired and just gave up towards the end. The crowd size was worst than Thursday. Just walking for 1 hour just gives one the feeling that you had been shopping for the past 4 or 5 hours. Walking non-stop.

Episode 6 is out on torrent!

Yay! Proposal Daisakusen is finally out on torrent. Been waiting for it for about a week. Really dying to the cravings.. Luckily I have been looking for other sources to numb my thirst for proposal. I've managed to found the show "Yan Papa" courtesy of Adrian. And boy, it's a pretty good show! I'm now on episode 9, going to finish it probably today.

"Yan Papa" is a show about a young man (25 years) marrying a 40 years old woman, who has 3 kids in her previous marriage. The woman is a successful mangaka with a huge-assed fortune, and on the day they got registered, the woman went to transfer the beneficiary of her insurance to the male lead, and then got herself killed in a car accident (cliche~). Well, then the story goes on to how he is able to win over the children through his efforts to build up a close relationship with them.

Anyway, yesterday I went to the PC show. It was bloody hell packed and there were times when I was just stucked and totally unable to move. I got so tired after walking for less than an hour. Anyway I'm planning to get myself a samsung K3, probably today if they can throw in a sports armband for free, or I shall wait further till the last minute sales. Although I am having qualms about waiting till Sunday, as I'm so afraid the freebies (a leather casing, screen protector, AC adapter) will have long finished by then, 'cause yesterday they had such a hard time in finding a sample freebie set to show me.

Long Vesak Day break~

A long Vesak Day break, as usual. End of the month I will usually receive a long weekend break from work.

Well today just played one GXL game with Oxy. Bloody hell. Vista decided to give me some problem by error-ing during the mid of the second game, which was still rather even. I had won the first game and that really blew me off track. My momentum just screwed up and I got my ass handed out in the third game. A really bad event happening on a really bad day for me. Now it seems almost impossible to climb to top 16 of the GXL ladder, in order to qualify for the offline finals.

Hopefully I do not lose my games tomorrow.

Damn, jdorama addiction!

Well, it's back. Jdorama addiction is finally BACK INTO MY LIFE! I hadn't been having the craves for jdorama ever since enlisting in army. And to think I've played with the thought that I will never crave for jdorama. Never yearn for anything. But I'm so wrong. Proposal Daisakusen just got me hooked back into this never-ending twirl. I've been sucked so deeply into a helpless and hopeless addiction, an addiction that so resembles drug taking. Okay I shall admit I've never taken drugs, so how can I make such a comparison?

Maybe it's giving me the craze like one's in love. Okay I'll admit again I've never been IN LOVE. That is not serious enough. But I kind of know what that feels like. To keep thinking and thinking about the person, having difficulty in getting to sleep 'cause of that etc. That's what's happening to me. And it doesn't help that "prodai" isn't a completed series. What's worst, it's a brand new show that is still CURRENTLY AIRING IN JAPAN. But I'd really like to thank the fansub team, Love Song Productions. They're doing a great job in subbing the series so efficiently (a bare 1 week to complete 1 episode, so that we're in reality 1 episode behind japan).

The addiction effects is probably doubled, or tripled, due to the fact that I am unable to completely finish the series in a day (or 2). This has resulted in me thinking of many possibilities of how the drama is going to end, how things could have turned out if yamapi chosen this step etc etc. I'm given too much space to think. In the past, I didn't had that chance as I'd have just completed the damned series in a day if I'm really into it. Now I'm left hanging mid-air in suspense on what is going to happen in the next episode. I'm DYING TO FIND OUT!!

I seriously hope Love Song Productions will continue their great working pace in subbing this series. Please don't stop "prodai" halfway in view of another series! Onegaishimasu!

Proposal Daisakusen!!~~

Wow, great show, finished the download this morning and completed both episodes by 1230pm. Wishing me happy birthday on the day itself. Didn't had that for quite some time heh.

I've actually taken my birthday as any other day. But to have people wishing you happy birthday is still quite good :)

I shall make it a point to wish every single one of you happy birthday in the future. Every year. I'll go recall those I have forgotten as well as find out the ones I still do not know (pardon me for such a mistake).

Thank you guys once again. My younger brother wished me happy birthday too, although a bit earlier, heh :)

On another note, I have just started watching japanese drama again, courtesy of Adrian who recommended me the show. Initially I thought, heck, I'll just download it, without the intention of giving it a serious chase. I only watched it one week after downloading it. And boy, it's a great show! I'm currently done with the 3rd episode, still waiting for the 4th and 5th show. Can't wait for them to be completely downloaded. I'll probably finish them in 2 hours and die waiting for episode 6 :(

The show I'm watching : Proposal Daisakusen (Operation Love) starring yamapi and masami. Both are great actor/actress, and I actually find the chemistry between them there, just like in Dragon Zakura where both of them were also set up together. Perhaps it's due to Dragon Zakura that we get to see such chemistry between yamapi and masami :)

The plot outline is as such: masami is yamapi's childhood love, but he did not have the courage to voice it out, and realised it was too late at masami's wedding, where the groom wasn't yamapi. He shows great remorse at the church and the fairy staying at the church responded to his inner callings, and gave him a chance to re-live his life. But the tricky part is, he goes back to the past to change the events before a picture is taken (this picture is put in the slideshow during the wedding, you know those kind of slideshow where pictures and pictures of the bride and groom is shown to the guests). When the picture is taken, he will hallelujah back to the present. So far that's what I've watched.

Personally I feel that this show is really very good, except on some parts which I can definitely predict will happen. Every episode, yamapi will go back to the past to change 1 picture. That's a too predictable plot. Why don't the director/script writer just have him go back to the future once and for all instead of going back multiple times? But in all, I really like the romance between yamapi and masami; the acting is just so good. Both of them are in love but do not have the courage to confess to the other. So convincing!

Both episodes 4 and 5 are 60% done, I hope by tomorrow morning they will be completed!

When will the year 2009 come?

In the past, when I was young, I've always found time to past ever so slowly. Like during schooldays, school time always seem so freaking long. In primary school, 30 minutes a period, it seems more like 300 minutes. But school holidays were always half the stipulated days, which seemed odd. Relativity perhaps? When I was THAT YOUNG (primary school), I couldn't fathom myself being in secondary school, or rather leaving my primary school. I couldn't see myself taking the PSLE which is such a talk about topic like how tough it is etc. When I entered secondary school, I was like "WOW! I can't believe I made it this far in life." That was some laugh out louds when I think back.

In secondary school, the periods were generally longer (like 40minutes), but they seem so much shorter as compared to in primary school, which were 300 minutes. Year by year it seemed hard to get by, as holidays were so freaking short but school days were so long each day. Piles and piles of homework to complete. I also couldn't see myself taking the 'O' levels. The OMG levels, so much talked about. I also didn't see myself being in Junior College, as not many students from my school enter Junior College. But I did take my O levels to enter junior college, and I wondered hey how the hell did I made it?

In Junior College everyday was a long day, but the periods seemed so surprisingly short! It's 50 minutes but seemed like 5 minutes each lesson. But I still couldn't see myself taking A levels, as I thought it's going to be my doom.

But I took it and end up here. Serving NS now. Time seems to pass really slowly, BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT I CAN SEE MYSELF COLLECTING MY PINK IC 2 YEARS LATER! It's so strange, I've always never see the possible outcome to each segment of my life, but I see this one. When the gang talked excitedly about our future Taiwan trip when we ORD, I can really see it happening. It's going to be fun. Fun. Fun. Fun. Fun....

End of rant. Boring isn't it? But that's my inner thoughts, confusing...

My future?

Damn... I've been really slow (or as usual, lazy) in updating my blog. Now I am updating it in camp, as tonight I've prepared to stay in.

Oh well, about the title of today's blog post: What is going to be my future? I certainly don't know. I know of some friends who aspire to be doctors, lawyers... and the like. But mathematicians? I haven't heard of one. Could I be one? Maybe. But I seriously doubt my own mathematical capabilities to become one. I've been browsing through www.physicsforums.com the past few days and I've come to realise the mathematics that I've studied was nothing. Am I really prepared to do mathematics at such a high level? Even I myself isn't so sure, as reading through posts after posts of freaking weird mathematical symbols, equations, terms and explanations just sways me even more to consider seriously whether to take mathematics at a further level. Luckily I have so much more time to consider that, since I'm in army now.

And about the point where my friends aspire to be doctors, lawyers, bleh I was just inferencing. 'Cause I've heard some of them already got accepted into these courses in Singapore. Congrats! As for me, I've applied for Faculty of Science (as my first choice) to NUS, and I couldn't choose which department I would like to go (or which degree). But woala! I was offered a place in Double Degree Programme of Maths/Applied Maths and Computer Science. I think it has to do with Faculty of Computing being one of my choices, as I have not indicated to them that I LOVE maths. Should I be honoured that I am offered by NUS to go into this programme? Certainly, I feel good :) But on the other hand, I'm not so sure as to whether I will want to do computing. It's a subject which my elder brother has discouraged me to take. To add on, IT industry in Singapore is pretty hard to get by with competitors from China and India - talent and relatively cheaper labour compared to high standards of Singaporeans.

But I have already accepted the offer. The worst thing now is that I am not sure whether maths IS FOR ME. Maybe engineering is, as I like mechanics and the way how equations fit into the workings of nature. I also find the equations concerning the universe (like Newton laws etc) very interesting, and when inculculated into the working of a problem, makes so much sense of the whole problem. The reasonings and laws just make the problem complete and beautiful. Am I a physics guy? Yes maybe, as I like these laws and rules and whatever in the problems I am facing. I am just afraid that I will not handle them when I do purely mathematics - that would be such a waste. So if I go into engineering, I will do mathematics at a more basic, calculations-based level, with concepts, theories, laws playing a more fundamental part in my solving of problems.

I had been quite determined to study mathematics, but after finding that mathematics at higher levels involve a lot of thinking as well as philosophy, it just seems impossible for me to comprehend, let alone doing 4 years in the course.

So I've accepted the DDP, but I've made plans that if I want to do Quantitative Finance I would have an edge over others as I would have done some maths and computing, which what I will study in QF (QF required business as well).

But is engineering a more suitable choice for me? I do not know...

Duty

Yesterday was duty day. It has been so long since I've watched so much TV in a day. I planned pretty much activities for myself at the ops room. I shall list them here:
1. 3 TIME magazines
2. The Sunday Times and The Newpaper Sunday
3. Thick set of maths lecture notes courtesy of Eng Shaw
4. Watching TV (the channel U show It had to be you)
5. Sleep! (I went to bed at 4am and only fell asleep at 5, and guess what time I awake? 6!)

This scheduled activities will probably take me the whole day, and true enough I did not complete all of them. I only managed to finish the newspapers, 2 TIME magazines, caught 4 hours of sleep, caught the television show (actually 4-5 shows - Doraemon anime, two kids' drama, return of condor heroes and It had to be you). I didn't even touch the lecture notes.

I went to bed only at 2320h and got to sleep at around 0000h. And I was awaken by someone at 0530h. Heck, I'm lacking sleep so badly, it's not even funny.

And I'm going to gym soon, with a headache... So see ya :)

Boring Sunday Duty

Damn.. This Sunday is burnt. So there will not be any Saturday outings for me. This sucks... No more Mother's Day meal (lunch/dinner). Probably going to have it on Saturday I guess. And I will stay home at Saturday to do my stuff, and very likely I will stay up the whole of Saturday night/Sunday morning and game, then come to camp to sleep.

Oh yes if possible I have to get the Taiyou DVD from Joel, so that I can pass it to Dorea. This has dragged on for like 2 weeks now, and probably going to drag even further due to my 'sudden' duty.

And I have 2 GXL games to clear. Tonight going to play one, and Saturday another.

What a busy busy weekend I'm going to have.

What a busy week!

Long time since I've posted (about a week now), I've been really reluctant to just type in my blog address to update a post or two everyday, when I am practically online everyday. Well this week's going to be pretty busy, as we will be handling some visits. Also, something shitty happened: I am suddenly scheduled for this Sunday's duty (which is coincidentally Mother's Day), and I am told just today. BLOODY HELL! A Sunday duty means spending 12 more hours doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in a room waiting for calls etc. This is something really stupid and retarded... But, I am hoping a colleague will swap his next weekend's duty for mine's. Hopefully he will, else I will not be able to celebrate Mother's Day (with my mum of course).

Next week's going to be busy as hell as well. Some course conducted by us, which I have to attend it myself as a trainee. Lame.

Labour day!

This labour day means that I will be getting a long long break, 4 days to be exact! So happy huh! But something else sucks. Regarding the college day, hell I am not getting anything! FMaths?? And there's no token of appreciation from the college, what the heck.. At least other schools are all giving out to their students for doing decently in the As, NJC doesn't?

Well, I should try to think less of that. I have not hurt so much other than the first few times of tightening (ie when I just got onto braces). Some weird technique of closing my teeth spacing together using rubber band (note: singular). Really uncomfortable and I have to have it 24/7, other than when I brush my teeth. Sucks that I have to live that way till the next consultation, which I will likely get the same treatment.

Yesterday I went over to Khatib for some "curriculum programme". Amazingly so many from "level 1" were there, probably 10 of them out of 48 were there, but none of them were from my "class". Sadly MS was supposedly attending the programme (MS was from my "class"), but he had fever so oh well. But nonetheless we learn mostly stuff which I probably will never use but there was one topic which covered writing that I found useful.

Procastination in full effect

Bloody me. Have been too lazy to update this blog since last thursday, thinking "I'll post tomorrow with more content." That go on for like 5 days? Hell, I sure am lazy.

Well, updates on my life : I've been actively looking out for a cool mp3 player. Probably going to get it during the IT show in june. Initially I had decided to get an apple iPod, but after a few days of searching through the web, and some advice from a friend, I've decided NOT to get an iPod. Reason(s) being? First, the iPod is freaking expensive, and can easily set me back 300 bucks. Secondly, the iPod isn't very durable (according to my friend). Thirdly, there are definitely better mp3 players around on the market. And that is the main reason why I want to get something else. Now, I am pretty set on getting the iRiver Clix 2, should the price be around 300+ (lower end of the line) for a 4GB model. If a 8GB model comes around and if it's below 400, I might probably get it. Or, if the price is still too steep, I'll get a samsung YP-T9. Pretty cool looking, just that the LCD screen isn't perfect (the only flaw in my opinion). YP-K3 looks really really sexy, like the LG Chocolate phone, but function wise and battery-lasting-wise it isn't a really good option, although price-wise it is really economical.

And tomorrow I'll be going for my first ever scholarship interview - CN Yang Scholarship interview, at NTU campus. Going to practice my interviewing skills, since I'll need it when I apply for more scholarships next year. I am not prepared for the interview tomorrow 'cause I was only informed of it last Friday, and I'm going for it so soon.

3 posts into 1, but it's still going to be short

Sorry (actually, to who?) for not posting the past 2 days. The reason is that on Monday, I stayed back pretty late (reached home about 9 plus) in camp to do some stuff. Was really tired from the whole day's work, so I couldn't bring my tired body to publish a post for Monday. As for yesterday, I stayed back in camp, yes, my first stay in, as today there's some visit to prepare for. So there goes my time to publish a post for my blog :(

So today the visit went on pretty eventfully, which wasn't a good thing. Oh wait, I am not allowed to really divulge anything lest They come over and arrest me.

Well I think I better stay in touch with my Warcraft, as I've not touched it for 3 days. So see ya tomorrow!

End of the weekend break

Today is the usual sunday, slumping in the chair in front of the monitor. I didn't get anything much done, thanks to vista on my computer which prevented me from achieving my agenda. But I have to live with it, just praying hard the programmers at GG please release a patch to fix this vista shit. I'll gladly pay for your program if there is a need to, to thank you for your hard work in fixing up what the guys at Microsoft couldn't.

Anyway today I really had nothing to do, so I decided to pay friendster a visit. I have 200 over friends, so say friendster. That can't be right, 'cause I don't remember myself having 200 over contacts, in all seriousness. So I ran through my friends list and hey presto! I saw many of the profiles that feature celebrities. These accounts are probably the fan clubs which I "joined" over at friendster in the past, admittably to make up a larger "friend" database. I guess I was really silly back then. So I decided to delete all these crap away, since they don't really belong to MY friend list anyway. And to think i deleted a whopping 40+ "friends" from that list! Wow, I really added a lot of rubbish account into my friends list, when they aren't even my friends!

After going through pages of "friends", I've decided to further my steps: to delete the contacts of people I don't even know (not fan clubs now). These are mostly people who magically appear in my "friends" list without my knowing, and most of their profiles look really twit-ish. So deleted them led me to another 10+ "friends" disappearing from my list, now then am I satisfied. So I've completed my task of clearing up the junk in my friendster account (although friendster itself IS junk), and I am really glad to do something which I have been reluctant to do for a long time. Procastination anybody?

Oh yes, I also deleted Karen from my "I AM YOUR FAN" section. Simply because I am NOT her fan. Yes you are pretty and very cute, but hey, looking at your pictures is more than enough. I don't need to be your fan and I am not 'cause I have not bought your CDs (or CD) which is Malay anyway. But still, I'll frequent your friendster profile to check you out, alright?

A-not-so-nice Saturday

This post is actually meant for yesterday, oh well, or for a few hours before, but the date jumps at the zeroth hour, so it might seem that I am actually double posting on the Sunday.

Today morning didn't go as smoothly as I thought things would be - computer gave me problems, things couldn't be done the way my brother wanted me to do etc etc. The biggest headache of the day would have to be Windows Vista. Bloody hell of a system, supposed to pack the biggest punch to kick some asses of the Linux people, but hell, it sure is unstable and uncompatible to anything on the planet (or NET, rather). First, I had to reinstall lots of stuff into the system even though the files were already inside the hard disk drives, but they weren't really considered "in the system". So after reinstalling, I found out that bloody hell I CANNOT CONNECT TO THE SERVER. Heck, the program wasn't even compatible to Vista in the first place. So I went online and tried searching and searching for some solution (which apparently didn't help AT ALL, until just now). Meanwhile as I was surfing the websites for help, security alerts were popping up here and there about macromedia flash, asking me to allow or disallow it to be installed. No matter what option I chose, the security alerts don't stop. Any clicks on the website will be followed by multiple pop-up alerts (like 4 or 5). Annoying little pest, which I couldn't solve very quickly (but I did solve it eventually). Alright, I'll cut everything right here since I feel really tired and very probably will turn in for the night already.

But then again I shall continue on with the rest of my day. The gang met up at Plaza Singapura for dinner, which eventually ended up in our usual place - Parklane. Yes, we guys have no life. It has almost become a weekly ritual for us to visit Parklane, be it LAN or pool. The most enjoyable part of each outing is of course not the activities that we do, but rather the chit-chatting session, but the details shall not be discussed over in a blog, lest I'll have my ORD extended.

'aye, I shall go off to bed now. Goodnight!

TGIF ( Thank God IT'S FRIDAY!!!)

Friday arrives! YAY! End of the work week, time to let your hair and mine ( as if I have much) down for a party weekend! Wasn't able to blog yesterday 'cause both of my brothers were using the computers, and when I got to use it I HAD to play games :P

Anyway I managed to sneak some exercises into my daily routine this past 2 days. And I am glad to do so. Gotta work really hard, 'cause sitting around in an office for more than 9 hours isn't going to do my health any good, gotta move around a little bit.

Also, my gaming plans have changed. I am not going to devote much time to play CnC3, but rather I will focus myself into improving my game at Warcraft3. I am going to really train hard in order to do well for any events that comes up. So I'll practice daily (something which I can never do in the past, well, thanks to mugging) and improve!

Will continue to blog as regularly as I can, preferably everyday. So I'll update tomorrow :)

Oh yes... FINALLY!

YES! Finally I managed to get my ass off the computer seat my going down for an evening jog. I feel so much better now! Motivation > Laziness! ( at least for today) But I feel so tired after the run, probably I will be able to fall asleep pretty quickly and with ease tonight :)

Oh and before I forget, happy birthday Han! And to think tomorrow's your enlistment date. Ironic huh? Probably wouldn't really have the mood/time to really celebrate your birthday, and that really sucks. Enjoy your BMT and then go for your OCS! Nostalgic... Thinking back to the day before my enlistment and then the actual day itself... Felt really weird 'cause there wasn't anyone who were close to me who got enlisted on the same day. The feeling can never be described in words... It felt so strange.

Alright off to gaming, will update again tomorrow :)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://hiangtat.blogspot.com/2007/04/oh-yes-finally.html' title='Oh yes... I have been finding so many excuses to not do exercise, which is a really bad thing for my health. I believe procastination can wait (all pun intended)! I really must get into the habit of exercising daily, if not everyday doing office work will really lead to me having some old-age related diseases later on in my life.

Here's my plan:

Wake up in the morning for a morning jog.
100 push ups everyday.
100 crunches everyday.

But I believe that's not enough! Maybe I should be doing more, something like this:
Wake up in the morning for a jog, followed by an evening jog when I get back home.
200 push ups everyday. ( But where to get the time I don't know, 'cause I need to take breaks in between smaller sets)
200 crunches everday ( Same as above)

So I guess I shall start doing exercises progressively, and not wake up tomorrow morning and be lazy all over to go down for a jog...

Wish me luck! So long my friend :)

Monday...

Today must be a terrible day. I could hardly get to sleep last night, thanks to a 2 hour afternoon nap i took. Really terrible, as it resulted in me feeling sleepy and lazy the whole day. And I used it as an excuse for not going down for a jog! That is very wrong, but I can't help it, my body just doesn't want to do any exercise.

So today I am really tired, and I shall head to bed on time, hopefully falling asleep quickly to recharge myself :) I don't think I will have enough time to play my computer games at all, probably going into CnC and play the campaign a bit. Warcraft shall be missed!

Oh wait by the way, the bloody TIME magazine is here. Heck, I tried cancelling my subscription for that crap but to no avail. Hell I have to pay 100 plus bucks for that crap which I very probably wouldn't read. But nonetheless I will TRY reading the first issue, rather than letting my money go down the drain.

A double Sunday morning

Today's morning is a Sunday morning, just like yesterday's morning(Oh wait, yesterday was Saturday but it felt so much like a Sunday morning). It must be the post-long weekend trauma coming in ( I wouldn't mind more of such traumas :) ). Today is the same as yesterday, a really lazy day for me. Which day isn't?

This morning I tried Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars, which my brother just bought yesterday. The graphics was fabulous. The gameplay wasn't too bad. Balance-wise... I have no idea, but I believed as a new game there's much that can be done. I shan't be too critical about the game on this aspect. Overall, I believe this is a game people can invest in, even though it is an EA product :/ I have already set a target that I will complete the whole campaign ( including NOD and bonus campaigns) by the end of this week. Yup, I am THAT free, compared to my fellow men :)

On another note, I really want to thank my dad. Thank you dad, for doing so much for the family. Even though there are times I have been rude to you, I still really love you. And I love my brothers as well as my mum too, though it might not appears to be the case ( or I think it doesn't appear the way I want it to look like). Oh well, why did I become all emo all of a sudden?

Shall end it here today... Wait I don't want today to end, I want a loooooooooooooooonnnng Sunday. I can't help it, Monday blues tomorrow.

It's tough!

It's not easy as it seems, or maybe I'm just really dumb with HTML. I am at my wits end trying to personalise this blog. Well I shall settle for this pre-template for now on, until I can devote more time ( I know, I was just really lazy) to learn how to edit the HTML of this website.

Luckily, this weekend is really long... A lot of things can be done, but I don't seem to recall anything of utmost importance that needs to be addressed, unlike in the past where weekends are precious time spent playing computer games and then rushing through homework on Sunday afternoons. Oh well, I really miss those days in school. School is so much more fun than now.

First blog, first post!

This is my first post on a blog! WOW! I guess I must have been really behind time, to be so left out in the blogging craze that hit Singapore like 1828734283787 years ago. Yup, it was that long ago. Well, I am really lazy in the past to devote time to maintain a blog. Life was just about mugging and spending some precious time online to game. Now that I am really free (really, really really free :) ), I shall try my best to put some dedication into keeping this blog alive.

This blog is still really new, created like just 5 minutes ago, so I'll take sometime to figure out how things work.

So long, my friend :)
